Blonde 101

Blonde hair has always been super trendy and super popular but with it only occurring naturally in about 7% of the world's population, the majority of blondes you see have been given a little assistance by modern chemistry and a trained, professional stylist. These chemical processes can leave locks needing a little extra love and the following tips are our best advice for caring for blonde!

1. Use the products that your stylist recommends. We love the LANZA Healing Blonde line up. It is specifically designed to replenish and renew by infusing vital moisture and protein depleted during the lightening process.

2. Schedule a glaze between highlight or balayage appointments. This quick service will help keep your blonde tones exactly the way you like them and as an added bonus will create a protective shield around each hair strand and prevent fading allowing you to extend time between salon visits.

3. If you blonde gets brassy- use a blue base shampoo and conditioner 1X per week. We always recommend LANZA Silver Brightening shampoo and conditioner because it's gentle and effective.

4. Be gentle with your blonde hair. It tends to be more delicate than hair that hasn’t been lightened. Pat it dry after shampooing. Gently brush and detangle it. Use low heat settings with your dryer. Limit curling iron use to 2X per week and flat iron use to 1X per week - do not exceed 360 degrees fahrenheit. Use a silk pillowcase when sleeping and/or wear your hair in a loose braid or bun.

5. Do not lighten your hair too often. Even every 6-8 weeks can be too frequent for some hair types. Build a relationship with a stylist that you know and trust. The integrity of your hair is very important. Maintain it with a good leave in protector like LANZA Blonde Rescue or LANZA Trauma Treatment.
