Deep Conditioning for Fine Hair
Let’s face it, the winter months can be torture on our hair! Between the dry air and increased use of hot tools, our hair can take a beating and is practically crying out for more moisture. That’s where the magic of deep conditioning masks come in clutch for restoring dehydrated, damaged strands! But what about those of us who have fine hair? Oftentimes, deep conditioners are too heavy for fine or think tresses and can leave them weighed down or greasy! Even worse, the client can feel like they have to settle for conditioners that arent nearly as deep and nourishing as they need. Fine haired Folks, don’t give up on deep conditioners yet. There are a handful that work beautifully to keep your hair in the best shape possible!
At Fringe Collective, we are always working hard to source the best products for our clients and our latest obsession is Kerastase. This French luxury brand is very much a customizable treatment based line that offers solutions for every type of hair.
At the top of our list for fine hair that needs intense fortification because it is weak and or dry is the Kerastase Genesis Masque. This mask will plump the hair and invigorate the scalp while strengthening the hair and reducing breakage all the while not leaving it heavy or limp. Start by applying a quarter size dollop to freshly shampooed hair. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse well. This mask can be used weekly and the benefits are immediate. And as a bonus, the fragrance is out of this world delightful.
Another Kerastase favorite is the Masque Densite. This mask works by thickening each hair strand and infusing it with Hyaluronic Acid which attracts and retains moisture. This mask is great for hair that is thin or is thinning as it actually makes the hair feel and look thicker. This mask is also used immediately after shampooing and is left on for 5 minutes before rinsing. Pro tip: for those of you who worry masks will make your hair flat. Use your mask first on damp hair and then rinse and follow up by shampooing last. Your hair will still retain the benefits of the mask but will be less slippery and soft when you’re ready to style it.
Kerastase outdid themselves when they reformulated their Chronologist line. The products in this line up truly take the best ingredients from all the Kerastase lines and roll it into the most luxurious, amazing high end products ever. Masque Intense Regenerant contains Abyssine, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E. So it encourages bounce and volume while providing essential anti- aging benefits to lengths and ends. A little does a long way with this mask. After one use, your hair will feel deeply replenished and incredible! Apply to freshly shampooed hair and leave for 5 minutes. Rinse and repeat weekly. This mask also can be used on a more regular basis by applying to freshly shampooed hair and rinsing out immediately. We love that it is dual purpose!
