Starching our hair into place repeatedly with extra heat isn’t the answer either, only leaving us with unwanted damage. The answer is simple - there is no one solution for this season, rather many customizable solutions for each hair type’s frizz battle!

Brazilian Blowout and Smoothing Services are the perfect solution for taming unwanted frizz during humidity season. Locking amino acids into the hair cuticle, this service helps to lock out humidity, lock in moisture and prevent unwanted color fade. This service is completely customizable to wave pattern, meaning actual curl and wave does not need to be eliminated during the process, though smoother and straighter hair can be achieved if desired! This process is our top pick for fighting the season’s unwanted hair woes, lasting up to three months. Although, it is important to note that this service may not be the best for everyone - these smoothing services are contraindicated for pregnant and breast feeding clients. This service may also not be our go to if you have extremely damaged, color damaged or brittle breaking hair as it does involve a delicate heat process. Demi-Smoothing Conditioning Treatments and Masks
Our service menu offers and extensive line of fully customizable conditioning masks and hair treatments formulated to solve a range of hair woes. In the humid seasons, we often defer to our trusted Kerastase treatments in the Treatment Lounge. These powerful concentrates work their way into the cuticle helping to introduce a heavy dose of nutrients while conditioning and sealing the cuticle up for instantly softer, smoother hair. For a more intensive anit-frizz session, we offer demi-smoothing conditioning treatments, working similarly to the Brazillian Blowout to seal up the cuticle locking out frizz but without the contraindications to certain client groups. These treatments are wonderful fixes as well and can be booked stand alone or added on to any additional salon service we offer!
At Home Hair Care
Weather you decide to treat yourself to a frizz free summer with one of these services or not, your at home routine is going to help play a BIG role in how your hair behaves for your during the frizzy season. While using a heavy duty smoothing shampoo may not be suggested for finer hair clients, switching to a general smoothing line can be helpful for many hair types. Our current favorite is the Kerastase Discipline family, offering a range of anti frizz, smoothing and moisturizing products for a variety of hair types. If you are a finer hair client and find that these products weigh you down, consider opting for just one smoothing styler to complete your hair routine rather than switching the entire arsenal up for the season. A simple smoothing leave in spray or anti-humidity finishing mist could greatly impact your every day hair experience for the better!
Styling Hacks
After you have done one, two or three of the above suggestions, it is still SO IMPORTANT that you remember just a few of the basics of hair styling. The first basic to remember - most people DON’T air dry perfectly when using little to no product. When you are crushed that your hair didn’t come out perfectly after virtually doing nothing to it, remember that this is actually something almost 99% of us face! Hair needs a little love and sweet talking to get it where you want it sometimes, as much as we hate to hear that. Try using a round brush and low heat setting on your dryer to smooth the pieces around your face into place for a quick and polished look, while letting the other sections of your hair air dry naturally with the correct product in play! Remember when doing a full blowout to give your hair extra time for a complete dry - if there is any moisture left in the cuticle it WILL blow up and all of your hard work will have been for nothing. Just an extra 5 when you think its time to stop and you won’t regret it! For fighting day two frizz, try smoothing a low heat iron over the frizzier bits to push them into place. A little hairspray on your finger tips can also help to tame fly aways around the face and through the part line!
